LU157 Meeting for Mon, Dec 20, Has Been Postponed

The Local Union 157 meeting scheduled for December 20th has been postponed

As a result of the dissolution of Local Union 608 the meeting location was changed to a larger venue to accommodate all members. Unfortunately, Our Lady of Pompei Church has just informed us that they will no longer be able to host our meeting on Monday, December 20. At this time, we have no choice but to postpone the meeting until further notice. A mailing will be sent to all members in the near future with the date and location of our upcoming meeting. We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and look forward to celebrating the New Year with all of our members.

UPDATE: Due to safety concerns for the Church and our members the decision to postpone this meeting was made. Police officers from the local precinct, District Council security, District Council representatives and church representatives evaluated the venue and deemed it inappropriate to hold the event.

Please direct all inquiries to Local 157 at 212.685.0567 or 212.643.1070 and please do not disturb the staff of Our Lady of Pompei.

[Note: Pompeii is spelled with two i's.]

This statement is partially misinforming. The Lady of Pompeii Church did not tell the NYCDCC that they would no longer be able to host the meeting.

I personally spoke with Father John by phone today at about 12:25 PM. He told me that the "chief security person at the union" stated that the location was unsafe and imprudent based upon the expected number of people to attend and inadequate egress. Father John described this "chief security person" as in his 60's, tall, and having a grayish beard. Present also during this discussion were Paul Capurso and Chris. Father John did not recall knowing Chris' last name.

Therefore, the decision to not use Lady of Pompeii Church, though based in part based upon Father John's and the NYPD's concerns, was based primarily on the findings and recommendations of the "chief security person at the union".

Additionally, I asked Father John who initially contacted the Lady of Pompeii Church to request the use of the church. He stated it was Paul Capurso and Richard. I asked "Tuccillo"? Father John did not recall knowing Richard's last name.

At about 3 PM today I called the NYCDCC and asked for Barry Security. I left a message asking for additional information regarding the Local Union 157 meeting and requested to be called back.

At 4:51 PM today I called Lawrence D'Errico's mobile number. I left a message asking to speak with him. He returned my call a few minutes later at 4:55 PM. He confirmed that the December meeting is indeed canceled, that there will not be a holiday party this year, and that another venue that can accommodate additional members, with the members approving of such a venue, must be found prior to holding another meeting. Therefore, currently there are no further Local Union 157 meetings scheduled until further notice.

is this statement which can be shown to be false not indicative of the manner in which the nycdcc casually lies to its members? the true fact of the matter is that the holding of the local meeting was so poor as to necessitate its cancellation. does this show an administration who would be incapable of organizing an orgy in a whorehouse? is lying to the members considered a valid form of communication in the spencer administration? why are members considered so stupid that so little thought is put into anything relating to them? visa vie the meeting and its notice of cancellation? has anyone asked spencer how he feels the meeting was "postponed" and not "cancelled" are there to be two meetings in january or was it the january meeting which was cancelled or are we postponing all future meetings to the following month? are we to have each months meeting a month late now?
